You'd think that after being on a PvP FFA server for a while, a person would get used to getting ganked. And if you are one of the peopel who think that, you'd be wrong. I've always enjoyed receiving /tells from people who are pissed off that I killed them. People who feel the need to send a /tell after being killed come in many varieties. The most common, by far, is the simple insult. Usually it's "fag" or "a-hole", or something similar. Sometimes it's a bit more creative, but usually there's just an insult, and it's over until I see the person again. I always thought it was funny when someone would get even more mad at me for killing them again. Of course I'm going to kill them again if they send me a hate tell. Some people are just so clueless it's amazing. Other post kill /tells I receive are more entertaining. Sometimes it's threats that their guild has 4000 members and I should be scared (a common threat from our favorite "Immortal"). Some threaten that they could kick my ass in real life. Ok, still not scary, still pretty weird, but still fun to receive. Even more rare is the guy who lives in a nice house, and has a beautiful wife, so being killed in a video game didn't mean that much to him. One guy even told me that he was a nuclear physicist in real life, and it didn't matter that I could kill him in a video game because his life was so much better than mine. I have to admit. It is pretty hard to have a better career than being a nuclear physicist. My measley $180,000 a year income is probably a pittance compared to that. Plus, he's probably saving the world. Ok, I'm jealous. Then, there's the guy who could beat you if the situation were different. Or, if you didn't play an overpowered class. All that insecurety rolled up into one person just has to burst out at some point. I met a fellow like this from "The Exodus Syndicate", a respected guild. First he thought my Bear Shaman was a Barbarian, which can one-shot most classes. But, he was on his alt anyways, so getting killed didn't bother him at all. He sent separate hate tells to the other 2 guys in our group. He's my favorite whiner of the week, so here he is in all his glory. He didn't respond after my last statement about his guild. These guys from Immortal and Addiction spawn camped us deeper in the instance until the server crashed. After the crash everyone ended up outside the instance. When we went in, Immortal and Addiction were standing there, but they didn't attack because we were at full health. One of the Addiction guys says "Don't even think about it." So we slaughtered them, and left 1 guy behind to put totems down so they couldn't come after us while the rest of the group worked their way down the tunnels. A GM showed up 15 minutes later, and told us not to spawn camp. So, one of these sissies from Addiction or Immortal put in a petition for us spawncamping them about 2 minutes after they spawncamped us. Addiction... Immortal... pretty pathetic... Here's the conversation with the GM. At the time I thought wilbemine was joking, but I think he was actually just being a sissy on rereading the text. I asked the GM if spawncamping was against the rules, but he wouldn't answer, so I still don't know. GM Conversation 1 GM Conversation 2 Here's the video of the fight right after we went after them. The second part of the fight is when we finished up inside, and we had to get Erid the quest at the front. These Immortal/Addiction panzies were at the start again, so Erid ran past them to finish the quest. In the first part I bugged out in the middle of the fight. I couldn't attack or cast, but I could be hit. Video of the fight with Immortal/Addiction. |
